Prayer for Spiritual Victory
(from Mark Bubeck)
Dear heavenly father, I praise you that I am united with the Lord Jesus Christ in all of His life and work. By faith I desire to enter into the victory of the incarnation of my Lord today. I invite Him to live His victory in me. Thank You, Lord Jesus Christ, that You experienced all temptations that I experience and yet never sinned.
I enter by faith into the mighty work of the crucifixion of my Lord. Thank You, dear Father, that through Jesus’ blood there is moment-by-moment cleansing from sin, permitting me to fellowship with You. Thank You that the work of the Cross brings Satan’s work to nothing.
I enter by faith into the full power and authority of my Lord’s resurrection. I desire to walk in the newness of life that is mine through my Lord’s resurrection. Lead me into a deeper understanding of the power of the Resurrection.
By faith I enter into my union with the Lord Jesus Christ in his ascension. I rejoice that my Lord displayed openly His victory over all powers as He ascended into glory through the very realm of the prince of the power of the air.
I enter into my victory aggressively and claim my place as more than a conqueror through Him who loves me. I offer up this prayer in the name of the Lord Jesus with thanksgiving. Amen.
Prayer to Remove Demonic Harassment
(from Mark Bubeck)
I worship and honor my heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. I ask You, Lord Jesus, to assign Your holy angels to protect me from any strategies of darkness designed to oppose this prayer for freedom.
In the name of my Lord Jesus Christ and by the power of his blood, I affirm my authority over all wicked spirits assigned to control me and hinder my life and witness for Christ. I now command all lingering wicked spirits to cease their work and be bound in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. I also bind all replacer wicked spirits assigned to rebuild evicted strongholds. They may not do that! I command all those spirits assigned against me to remain whole spirits. I forbid any dividing, restructuring, or multiplying of wicked spirits working against me.
All powers of darkness having assignment against me must hear and obey Him who is their Creator and Conqueror. I affirm that God has seated me with Christ Jesus in the heavenly realms far above all principalities and supernatural powers of darkness.
Lord Jesus Christ, I ask You to tell all these powers of darkness assigned to rule over me where they must go. Confine them to where they can never trouble me again. I yield fully to all of the purposes You have in this battle I have been facing. In the great name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
The Breastplate of St. Patrick (Selections)
I armor myself today
with the power of the Trinity.
I believe in the Trinity,
In the Oneness of God,
Creator of the universe.
I armor myself today
with the grace of the Nativity,
With the Baptism of Christ,
His Crucifixion and Entombment,
His Resurrection and Ascension,
His glorious Second Coming
Upon Judgment Day.
I armor myself today
With the grace of the seraphim,
The submissiveness of angels,
The attendance of archangels,
The prospect of resurrection,
And everlasting life.
The prayers of patriarchs,
The predictions of prophets,
The preaching of apostles,
The faith of confessors,
The purity of the Virgin,
The deeds of righteous men.
I armor myself today with:
God’s power to direct me,
God’s might to sustain me,
God’s wisdom to instruct me,
God’s eye to watch over me,
God’s ear to hearken to me,
God’s word to give me speech,
God’s hand to direct me,
God’s way to lie before me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s army to defend me,
Against the snares of demons,
Against the lure of vices,
Against the lusts of nature,
Against all who plot to harm me,
Be they far, or near at hand,
Be they few or be they many.
I invoke today all these virtues
Against every hostile, merciless power
Which may assail my body and my soul,
Against the incantations of false prophets,
Against the black laws of heathenism,
Against the false laws of heresy,
Against the deceits of idolatry,
Against every art and spell that binds
The soul of man and woman.
Christ, guard me today
Against poison
Against burning,
Against drowning,
Against fatal wounding,
That just reward be mine.
Christ be with me,
Christ be before me,
Christ be within me,
Christ be beside me,
Christ to win me.
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ be beneath me,
Christ be above me,
Christ be at my right,
Christ be at my left,
Christ guard me in the home,
Christ be my transport,
By land and by sea,
Christ be in quietude,
Christ be where danger threatens,
Christ be in the hearts of all who love me,
Christ be in the mouth of friend and stranger,
Christ be in every eye that sees me,
Christ be in every ear that hears me.
I armor myself today
With the power of the Trinity.
I believe in the Trinity,
In the Oneness of God,
Creator of the universe.
The Lord is salvation,
The Lord is salvation,
Christ is salvation,
May your salvation, O Lord,
be ever with us.
To God, Our Only Hope
(by Venerable St. Bede, 8th century)
O God,
the only hope of the world,
the only refuge for unhappy man,
abiding in the faithfulness of Heaven,
give me true help in this difficult battle.
O great King, save Your servant from defeat:
lest weak flesh succumb to the terrible Tyrant,
facing innumerable blows alone.
Remember I am dust and wind and shadow,
and my life is as fleeting as the flowering of the grass:
but may Your mercy,
resplendent from all eternity,
rescue Thy servant from the jaws of the lion.
Thou who didst come from on high in the cloak of flesh,
strike down the Dragon with the two-edged sword,
enabling our mortal flesh to war with winds and beat down strongholds (evil spirits)
with our Captain God.
If battles rage,
if the slimy snake cries out,
if the ferocious enemy incites his own to war,
under your guidance, victory is assured.
Holding fast to you no terrible serpent can upset us.
Liberate me, O Most High,
from infernal traps
so that I may approach the true light, O great King,
and, flourishing in the splendor of your temple,
take part in Heaven’s sacred chorus.
A Bedtime Prayer
(from John Eldridge)
My dear Lord Jesus, I come to you now to be restored in you, to be renewed in you, to take refuge in you. I honor you as my sovereign Lord, and I surrender every aspect of my life totally and completely to you. I give you my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, and will. I cover myself with your blood, and I ask your Holy Spirit to restore me in you, renew me in you, and lead this time of prayer.
I proclaim the kingdom of God and the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ over my home and all things in it. (If you live in an apartment, use “apartment.” If you have only a room under your authority in someone else’s home, use “my room.” If you share a room, use “my bunk” or “my side of the room.”) I consecrate and sanctify my home and everything in it to the Lord Jesus Christ and to the Kingdom of God. I bring the cross, resurrection, and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout my home tonight—through every object and furnishing, bed and bedding, all media and icons, all books and magazines, movies and music, toys and games, through the atmosphere in every room, throughout the ceilings, walls, floors, and all places in them, from the land beneath to the roof above and all around this home tonight.
I take my place in the cross, resurrection, and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ. I now bring the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and the fullness of the work of Christ against Satan and his kingdom. I bring the cross, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ against every foul and unclean spirit—every ruler, power, authority, and spiritual force of wickedness (you might need to get specific: “Including all spirits of fear, death, torment, accusation,” etc. You know what’s been attacking you. It has more power if you name them specifically.) I command every foul and unclean spirit bound and banished from my home and from my household, with every backup and replacement, every weapon and device, in the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and in his name.
I now bring the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and the fullness of the work of Christ—his cross, resurrection, and ascension—against every foul power, witchcraft, and black art. I cut them off in the name of the Lord. No weapon forged against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). I bring the cross and blood of Jesus Christ against every form of hex, vex, and incantation; against every spell, ritual, vow, dedication, and sacrifice; against every word, judgment, and curse. I command them broken and bound from my home this night in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I now bring the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and the fullness of the work of Christ between me and all people—their spirit, soul, and body, their sin, warfare, and corruption. (It may help to name those people now—extended family, folks you have been ministering to, anyone you know is judging you.) I send every human spirit bound back to their body; I command all of their sin, warfare, and corruption bound back to the work of Christ in their life, and I forbid it to transfer to me.
I [ask you for the presence of your angels,] Lord Jesus Christ, and [I ask that you] instruct them to build a shield of protection around me and my home (Hebrews 1:14). I ask your Holy Spirit to fill my home with your presence, with the peace of God and the love of Christ. I ask you to send forth your Spirit to raise up prayer and intercession for me this night. I now call forth and ask for the Kingdom of God and the authority, rule, and dominion of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout my home and throughout my household, all through the hours of this night and through the new day, in the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and in his name.

Prayers for Those Seeking Spiritual Freedom
(from Neil Anderson)
Dear Heavenly Father, You are present in this room and in my life. You alone are all-knowing, all-powerful, and everywhere present and I worship You alone. I declare my dependency upon You, for apart from You I can do nothing. I choose to believe Your Word, which teaches that all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to the resurrected Christ, and being alive in Christ I have the authority to resist the devil as I submit to You. I ask that You fill me with Your Holy Spirit and guide me into all truth. I ask for Your complete protection and guidance as I seek to know You and do Your will. In the wonderful name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
In the name and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command Satan and all evil spirits to release their hold on me in order that I can be free to know and choose to do the will of God. As a child of God who is seated with Christ in the heavenly places, I declare that every enemy of the Lord Jesus Christ in my presence be bound. God has not given me a spirit of fear, therefore I reject any and all condemning, accusing, blasphemous, and deceiving spirits of fear. Satan and all his demons cannot inflict any pain or in any way prevent God’s will from being done in my life today, because I belong to the Lord Jesus Christ.

I refuse to be discouraged; You are the God of all hope. Nothing is too difficult for You. I am confident that You will supply all my needs as I seek to live according to Your Word. A Warfare Prayer
(from Victor Matthews)
Heavenly Father, I bow in worship and praise before You. I cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ as my protection. I surrender myself completely and unreservedly in every area of my life to You. I take a stand against all the workings of Satan that would hinder me in my prayer life. I address myself only to the True and Living God and refuse any involvement of Satan in my prayer.
Satan, I command you, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to leave my presence with all of your demons. I bring the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ between us.
Heavenly Father, I worship You and give You praise. I recognize that You are worthy to receive all glory and honor and praise. I renew my allegiance to You and pray that the Blessed Holy Spirit would enable me in this time of prayer. I am thankful, Heavenly Father, that You have loved me from past eternity and that You sent the Lord Jesus Christ into the world to die as my substitute. I am thankful that the Lord Jesus Christ came as my representative and through Him You have completely forgiven me; You have adopted me into Your family; You have assumed all responsibility for me; You have given me eternal life; You have given me the perfect righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ so I am now justified. I am thankful that in Him You have made me complete, and that You have offered Yourself to me to be my daily help and strength.
Heavenly Father, open my eyes that I might see how great You are and how complete Your provision is for this day. I am thankful that the victory the Lord Jesus Christ won for me on the Cross and in His Resurrection has been given to me and that I am seated with the Lord Jesus Christ in the heavenlies. I take my place with Him in the heavenlies and recognize by faith that all wicked spirits and Satan himself are under my feet. I declare, therefore, that Satan and his wicked spirits are subject to me in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am thankful for the Armor You have provided. I put on the [Belt] of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Sandals of Peace and the Helmet of Salvation. I lift up the Shield of Faith against all the fiery darts of the enemy; and I take in my hand the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. I choose to use Your Word against all the forces of evil in my life. I put on this Armor and live and pray in complete dependence upon You, Blessed Holy Spirit.
I am grateful, Heavenly Father, that the Lord Jesus Christ [disarmed] all principalities and powers and made a [public spectacle] of them openly and triumphed over them in Himself. I claim all that victory for my life today. I reject all the insinuations, and accusations, and the temptations of Satan. I affirm that the Word of God is true and I choose to live today in the light of God's Word. I choose, Heavenly Father, to live in obedience to You and in fellowship with You. Open my eyes and show me the areas of my life that do not please You. Work in me to cleanse me from all ground that would give Satan a foothold against me. I do in every way stand into all that it means to be Your adopted child and I welcome all the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
By faith and in dependence upon You I put off the old man and chose to receive all the victory of the Crucifixion where the Lord Jesus Christ provided cleansing from the old nature. I put on the new man and choose to receive all the victory of the Resurrection and the provision He has made for me to live above sin.
Therefore, today I put off the old nature with its selfishness and I put on the new nature with its love. I put off the old nature with its weakness and I put on the new nature with its strength. I put off the old nature with all its deceitful lusts and I put on the new nature with its righteousness, purity, and honesty.
In every way I receive by faith the victory of the Ascension and Glorification of the Lord Jesus Christ, whereby all the principalities and powers were made subject to Him. I take my place in Christ as victorious with him over all the enemies of my soul. Blessed Holy Spirit, I pray that You would fill me with Yourself. Come into my life with all Your gifts, break down every idol and cast out every foe.
I am thankful, Heavenly Father, for the expression of Your will for my daily life as You have shown me in Your Word. I therefore, claim all the will of God for today. I am thankful that You have blessed me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. I am thankful that You have begotten me unto a living hope by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. I am thankful that You have made a provision so that today I can live filled with the Spirit of God with love and joy and peace, with long- suffering, gentleness and goodness, with meekness, faithfulness and self-control in my life. I recognize that this is Your will for me and I therefore reject and resist all the endeavors of Satan and his wicked spirits to rob me of the will of God. I refuse in this day to believe my feelings and I hold up the Shield of Faith against all the accusations and distortions and insinuations that Satan would put into my mind. I claim the fullness of the will of God for my life today.
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ I completely surrender myself to You Heavenly Father, as a living sacrifice. I choose not to be conformed to this world. I choose to be transformed by the renewing of my mind, and I pray that You would show me Your will and enable me to walk in all the fullness of Your will today.
I am thankful, Heavenly Father, that the weapons of our warfare are not [fleshly] but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, to the casting down of imaginations and every high thing that [exalts] itself against the knowledge of God, and to bring every thought into obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, in my own life today I tear down the strongholds of Satan against my mind, and I surrender my mind to You, Blessed Holy Spirit. I affirm, Heavenly Father, that You have not given me the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind. I break and smash the strongholds of Satan formed against my emotions today and I give my emotions to You. I smash the strongholds of Satan formed against my will today, I give my will to You, and choose to make the right decisions of faith. I smash the strongholds of Satan formed against my body today, I give my body to You recognizing that I am Your temple. I rejoice in Your mercy and goodness.
Heavenly Father, I pray that now and through this day You would strengthen and enlighten me, show me the way Satan is hindering and tempting and lying and distorting the truth in my life. Enable me to be the kind of person that would please You. Enable me to be aggressive in prayer and faith. Enable me to be aggressive mentally, to think about and practice Your Word, and to give You Your rightful place in my life.
Again I cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and pray that You, Blessed Holy Spirit, would bring all the work of the Crucifixion, all the work of the Resurrection, all the work of the Ascension, and all the work of Pentecost into my life today. I surrender myself to You. I refuse to be discouraged. You are the God of all hope. You have proven Your power by resurrecting Jesus Christ from the dead, and I claim in every way this victory over all Satanic forces in my life. I pray in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ with thanksgiving.
Amen.
Prayer Against Malefice
(From the Greek Orthodox Ritual)
God, our Lord, King of Ages, All-powerful and Almighty, you who made everything and who transformed everything simply by your will. You who in Babylon changed into dew the flames of the “seven-times hotter” furnace and protected and saved the three holy children. You are the doctor and the physician of our soul. You are the salvation of those who turn to you.
We beseech you to make powerless, banish, and drive out every diabolical power, presence, and machination; every evil influence, malefice, or evil eye and all evil actions aimed against your servant [name here]. Where there is envy and malice, give us an abundance of goodness, endurance, victory, and charity.
O Lord, you who love mankind, we beg you to reach out your powerful hands and your most high and mighty arms and come to our aid. Help us, who are made in your image; send the angel of peace over us, to protect us body and soul. May he keep at bay and vanquish every evil power, every poison or malice invoked against us by corrupt and envious people. Then under the protection of your authority may we sing, in gratitude: The Lord is my salvation; whom should I fear? I will not fear evil because you are with me, my God, my strength, my powerful Lord, Lord of Peace, Father of All Ages.
Hymn of the Triumphant Christ
(Melito of Sardis, late second century)
When the Lord had clothed himself with humanity,
and had suffered for the sake of the sufferer,
and had been bound for the sake of the imprisoned,
and had been judged for the sake of the condemned,
and was buried for the sake of the one who was buried,
he rose up from the dead,
and cried with a loud voice:
Who is he that contends with me?
Let him stand in opposition to me.
I set the condemned man free;
I gave the dead man life;
I raised up one who had been entombed.
Who is my opponent?
I, he says, am the Christ.
I am the one who destroyed death,
and triumphed over the enemy,
and trampled Hades underfoot,
and bound the strong one,
and carried off man to the heights of heaven,
I, he says, am the Christ.
St. Benedict’s Exorcism Prayer
Let the Holy Cross be my light!
Let not the dragon be my guide
Begone Satan!
Never tempt me with your vanities
What you offer me is evil
You drink the poison yourself!
May we be strengthened by His presence at the hour of our death.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
St. Anthony of Padua Exorcism Prayer
Behold, the Cross of the Lord!
Begone, all evil powers!
The Lion of the tribe of Judah,
The Root of David, has conquered!
Alleluia, Alleluia!
A Short Exorcism Formula
(from the Lutheran tradition)
Begone in the name of Jesus you evil spirits. You have no right to her; she is a child of God. She has received the name of the Triune God upon her forehead and has been marked redeemed by God from sin, death, and you, worthless devil. Begone in the name of Jesus and trouble this woman no more.
An Exorcism Formula in the Name of the Three
(from Syria, 7th century)
I adjure you, O evil spirit,
through God the Father Almighty,
and through Jesus Christ His Son,
and through the Holy Spirit the Paraclete,
that you depart, through His power, from the vessel which you hold captive
A Prayer for Healing in the Name of God
(from the Guild of St. Raphael)
In the Name of God most High may release from your pain be given you, and your health restored according to his holy will. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of life, may new life surge through your mortal body. In the name of God the Holy Spirit may you receive inward health and the peace that passes understanding.
And may God, who gives us peace, make you completely his, and keep your whole being, spirit and soul and body, free from all fault at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Anti-Demonic Prayers from Gregory of Nazianzus
(fourth century)
1.
You have come, o evil doer, I recognize your thoughts.
You have come, in order that you might deprive me of the light and beloved life.
Unconquerable one, how have you come as light, though you are darkness?
You will not trick me, liar.
How do you always assemble a bitter battle against me,
While openly lying in wait?
But why do you hold a grudge against the pious,
ever since when first you cast Adam from paradise, a creation of God,
and with evil you ambushed a wise command and provided bitter food to a sweet life;
How am I to flee from you? What remedy shall I find for my sufferings?
While at the very beginning with small sins, like a river,
You attack the heart; but then you open the ground wider;
Afterwards as a current both foul and great,
You have come, until your chaos might take me, and your pit.
But withdraw far away, so that you might lay your hands upon peoples or cities,
as many as have not come to know God.
But I am a portion of Christ, as a temple I have been prepared,
And a sacrifice; […]
But surrender to God, and to the creation divine,
By standing in awe of God’s wrath and the dance of souls reverent,
And the sound in the unbroken hymns.
2.
Flee from my heart, trickster, flee at once;
Flee from my limbs, flee from my life.
Thief, serpent, fire […], evil, doom, chasm, dragon, beast,
Night, ambush, rage, chaos, bewitcher, manslayer;
You who also hurled those firstborn of our kind into ruin,
Having tasted evil, baneful one, and death.
Christ Lord orders you to flee to the depth of the sea,
Down from the peaks or into the herd of swine,
Just as the arrogant legion before.
But yield, lest I strike you with the cross, before whom everything trembles,
I carry the cross on my limbs, the cross on my journey,
The cross on my heart; the cross is my glory.
Will you not stop ambushing me, mischievous trickster?
Not to the cliffs, nor to Sodom will you look, or to the herds of the godless,
Who, having cut in two the great divine nature, have put it to an end,
But to my grey hairs, and to my heart?
Always with murky thoughts, enemy, do you blacken me,
Neither trembling before God, nor the priesthood.
And He, the mind of the Trinity, has become a clear herald;
Even now He sees my end. Filth, do not muddy me,
As one pure I will encounter pure heavenly lights.
[…]
3.
I call upon God. What is this? Flee from me quickly,
Flee, most evil beast, manslayer,
Why do you trouble me though you have not been wronged in any way?
Enter into the depths and fill it with your swines.
It will readily receive what is thrown into the depth.
But from me keep away, lest I strike you with the cross,
At which everything shivers and trembles in fear of its strength.
4.
Flee from the writings, o Barbarian, do not trouble me.
Flee, wretched one; Christ is written by me,
May this collected thought not flee from me;
Begone all of those,
Whom Christ does not lead far from the earth.
5.
Go away, go away, evil one, manslayer;
Go away, sight of terrible sufferings, raging evil;
Go away, Christ is within, to whom I have offered
And given my soul. Flee, giving up as quickly as possible.
O help, [God, may your] angels stand by!
O a tyrant, and a thief is approaching.
From them take me away, yes, beloved one, I am being stoned.
6.
You have come, you have come, O most evil one, but you have been held in check.
I saw you as smoke and I felt the fire.
A smell acrid, an impression of the dragon;
But the cross I set up, which is the guard of my life,
The cross, which binding together the entire world, offers it to God.
Have fear for it and yield, do not appear again.
Grace calls me a comrade undefiled.
How much do you oppress me with those evils? How much?
For me God died, and again he was raised.
Be ashamed in front of the bath; give way, o manslayer.
As with pleasures bitter you first tricked me,
Thus you malevolently wish to kill me today.
Go away, go away.
For I sense the battle.
Even if you might possess my body, still in my mind I will not suffer.
7.
The image is emptied, what word will help?
The image is emptied, a gift of the undefiled God.
The image is being assaulted; I burn, o jealousy, jealousy,
With another’s [the devil’s] words and sophistries.
Font of evils, do not bubble forth, the mind be not empty.
But you, tongue, do not receive mud.
But you, hand, do not accept ill counsel.
Thus the image in us might remain uncorrupted.
8.
O, he has come near, my Christ, again the dragon.
O, he has come near to me and I am violently afraid.
O, I had tasted the tree of knowledge.
O but jealousy had persuaded me to become an object of envy.
I am not divine and I had been thrown from luxury,
Large Sword, Quench the evil flame a little,
That you may receive me again within the garden [Paradise],
Entering with Christ like the thief from the cross.
Let the Holy Cross be my light!
Let not the dragon be my guide
Begone Satan!
Never tempt me with your vanities
What you offer me is evil
You drink the poison yourself!
May we be strengthened by His presence at the hour of our death.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Prayer for Spiritual Cleansing of Home, Apartment, or Room
(from Neil Anderson)
After removing and destroying all objects of false worship, pray this prayer aloud in every room:
Dear Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that You are the Lord of heaven and earth. In Your sovereign power and love, You have entrusted many things to me. Thank You for this place to live. I claim my home as a place of spiritual safety for me and my family and ask for Your protection from all the attacks of the enemy. As a child of God, raised up and seated with Christ in the heavenly places, I command every evil spirit claiming ground in this place, based on the activities of past or present occupants, including me and my family, to leave and never return. I renounce all demonic assignments directed against this place. I ask You, Heavenly Father, to post Your holy angels around this place to guard it from any and all attempts of the enemy to enter and disturb Your purposes for me and my family. I thank You, Lord, for doing this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Form for the Exorcism of Places
God, the Son of God, who by death destroyed death, and overcame him that had the power of death;
Beat down Satan quickly:
Deliver this place (house, church, etc.) from all evil spirits, all phantasms and projections and all deceits of the devil, and bid them depart to their own place, there to remain, there to remain for ever.
God, incarnate God, who came to give peace, bring peace.
Amen.
Prayer for a Home Troubled by Evil Spirits
O Lord God of our salvation, Son of the Living God, […], being above all dominions, principalities, authorities and powers: You are great and fearsome to all around You. You are the One Who set the heavens like a vault and made the earth in Your might; Who directs the universe in Your wisdom. When earthquakes occur under heaven from the foundations, its pillars are unshaken. You speak and the sun does not shine. You sealed the stars. You forbad the seas and dried them up. Authorities and dominions hide from Your wrath, and the rock trembles before You.
You obliterated the gates of brass and demolished the bars of iron. You bound the Mighty One and smashed his vessels. By Your Cross You cast down tyrants and drew in the Serpent with the hook of Your humanity. Having cast him down, You bound him with hooks in the gloom of Tartarus.
As the same Lord, the Hope of those who place their [hope] on You, and the Wall of might for those whose expectation is in You, anathematize, drive away and transform all diabolical actions and all satanic indictments, all slanders of the Adversary, and of the powers lying under this roof. Free those bearing the Sign which is awesome against demons: the Cross of Your victory, and calling upon Your gracious Name, from possession by him and from those wandering about under this roof.
Yes, Lord, You drove away legions of demons, and the demons and unclean spirits by which the deaf and dumb were held. These You commanded to depart and not to return again. You have consumed all the armies of our invisible enemies, and have made wise the faithful who have known You. For You said, "Behold, I give you power to trample underfoot snakes and scorpions, and all the power of enemies" (Luke 10:19).
Preserve, O Master, all who live in [this] house from all harm and every temptation from below, delivering them from fear of the feeble one and the arrows that fly by day, from things proceeding from the darkness and attacks by demons at midday. Let Your servants and Your children, delighting in Your help, and preserved by armies of angels, faithfully sing with one accord: "The Lord is my Helper and I will not be afraid; what can man do to me?" and again, "I will fear no evil, for You are with me."
As You are my [hope], O God, Mighty Master, Prince of Peace, and Father of the age to come, for Your kingdom is an eternal Kingdom, to you alone is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
God, the Son of God, who by death destroyed death, and overcame him that had the power of death;
