Polley Farewell

01.jpg

On Sunday, October 25, Grace Bible Chapel held a farewell open house in honor of Pastor Ken Polley’s time with the church. Coffee and cookies started the afternoon off, with a pizza buffet at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Ken will be missed by the congregation, but we are all grateful for the time he has been here and wish him
well as he follows God’s leading to his new area of service. Grace’s new Senior Pastor, Dr. Don Mingo will be with us on Nov. 1, 2009, and we are all looking forward to having Pastor Don and Kathy with us.

Honoring Leatha Lemen

Following the morning worship service, a potluck dinner and program were held to honor Leatha Lemen for her years of service at Grace Christian School. The program began with a review of each year Grace Christian School has been in operation, starting in 1978. Pictures were shown of each class and memories were shared about the different students.

Mrs. Lemen said she has been able to be a “friend” of many of the former students though Facebook. She said it has meant to much to her to have a contact with the students after graduation.

Individuals spoke of the memories they’d shared working at the school with Leatha, and of her love for all the students as demonstrated through her actions.
