Call 2 Fall
Submitted by webauthor (not verified) on Mon, 07/06/2009 - 16:37
On Sunday, 29,308 people and churches went on their knees to pray for the country and its leadership according to 2 Chronicles 7:14. Grace Bible Chapel also took part in this as amny from the church spent ten minutes of their time in prayer. The Call 2 Fall event was held on the fifth because it was appropriate that on the day after we celebrate our " Independence," believers would express their "Dependence" upon the Lord. From 9/11 to war to natural disasters to financial and moral collapse, we are witnessing what happens when a nation turns away from God. In view of the monumental challenges of our times, do we not find ourselves in a similar situation as that of ancient Israel and early America? Throughout this special day, believers accross the nation spent time on their knees in crying out to God to heal our souls and our land. The journey back to God, to His forgiveness and favor, begins on our knees in humility and repentant prayer.
Matt Keller to Begin Outdoor Ministry

Matt Keller and his family were visiting Grace Bible Chapel Sunday, and requested support for his outdoor ministry in Timber Bay Outdoor Adventures, a non-profit organization that wants to make a difference for youth in Christ. The outdoor adventures iss a tool to fight hopelessness and despair in the young people in the community and beyond. Through hunting, fishing, camping and backpacking trips, the Kellers want to provide hope in Jesus for a generation that is confused about what that means. Matthew and Heidi Keller have been approved by the Missions Committee and the Board of Elders to receive missionary support through the church. Matt Keller was also prayed over by the church leadership in the service.
God's Word from Honduras

Tim Nelson speaking at Grace Bible Chapel The Nelson family serving with CAM International in Honduras was back in Grand Rapids this Sunday for a visit. Tim Nelson was in charge of a combined Sunday school class, sharing with the congregation how God is moving in Honduras. It is the goal and purpose of the Nelsons to help local pastors develop disciples, to mentor future missionaries and to work with national leaders to promote missions from Honduras. The challenges are many, but Christ's grace is more bountiful. God has protected the Nelson family through the three years that they have been in the small Latin-American nation and still continues to protect them as they continue His work. The Nelsons have acclimated to the new culture and people and keep gathering new friends in Christ. They are concerned about the current political crisis unfolding in Honduras, for family adjustments to new schooling arrangements this fall, for God’s provision for their Honduran residency needs, for financial support for new CAM missionaries joining the team in Honduras, and for wisdom in encouraging and enabling Hondurans to develop a vision to reach the world for Christ. The Nelsons need our prayers and support so that we can see God do great things through them.
